Abstract

This document specifies: a) the field of application; b) the requirements for hose union backflow preventer; c) the dimensional and the physico-chemical properties and the properties of general hydraulic, mechanical and acoustic design to which hose union backflow preventers of nominal sizes DN 15 up to and including DN 32; d) the test method and requirements for verifying these properties; e) the marking and the presentation; f) the acoustics. This document specifies the characteristics of hose union backflow preventers of nominal size DN 15 up to and including DN 32 that are suitable for use in drinking water systems at pressures up to and including 1 000 kPa (10 bar) and temperatures up to and including 65 ¦C and for 1 h at 90 ¦C.
