Abstract

This European Standard specifies the design parameters of gaskets and gasket materials required to satisfy the needs of prENV 1591-2 and provides test procedures for establishing the relevant values of these parameters in respect of particular gasket types and materials. Gaskets in incompressible materials which permit large deformations (for example flat gaskets with rubber as the major component), are outside the scope of this standard.
