Abstract

This standard specifies additional requirements and/or exceptions from EN 474-1:1994 "Earth-moving machinery - Safety - Part 1: General requirements". This standard applies to wheel dumpers as defined in ISO/DIS 6165:1994. This standard applies for crawler dumpers and compact dumpers as defined in 3.2.1 and figure C.2 and walking excavators as defined in 3.2.1 and 3.2.4 and figures B.3, B.4, B.5 and B.6. This standard deals with the significant hazards pertinent to dumpers when they are used as intended and under the conditions foreseen by the manufacturer (see Annex A of this standard and Annex C of EN 474-1:1994).
